03/08/21 - New Music Monday

Updated: Mar 14

Cheers to the new week my new music peeps :)

I hope that the weekend left you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to take on the week ahead. Take a listen to this week's playlist to fuel your inspiration and drive.

Blue by Madison Beer is sultry and dark with subtle undertones of a Lana Del Ray song. With many vocal effects used to create mystery and echoes and space to create more drama, Beer's lovely voice still cuts through when it needs to, proving it doesn't need all of the special effects to shine.

Sam Ryder's delicate vibrato adds beauty to his song Whirlwind. This song is so beautiful, it has the melodic option of being very simplistic but with perfect vocal choices and Ryder's use of minor notes in the chorus, it becomes different and special.

While this is not a 'new' song by any means, Alane by Wes first released in 1994 has been re-released and reimagined on Robin Schulz's new album "IIII". Schulz describes the song as having "no boundaries" and the lyrics speak about world unity, peace and love which even if you're a native English speaker like me, you can tell what the message of the song is, even though the words are in the Bantu-Kana language.
