Happy Monday, I hope this morning finds you refreshed from the weekend and ready to kick some butt.
To help you with this, may I recommend Club Funkateers by Bootsy Collins to get you dancing, and Spa by Icona Pop and Sofi Tukker to help you embrace self-care with a very 2020 vibe.
My favorite song on the playlist is afterthoughts by Canadian singer-songwriter renforshort. The simple melancholy guitar picking gives your ears room to enjoy the dark yet beautiful lyrics about how the world is unfair and a mess. The words that keep replaying in my head are "worry doesn't change a thing, I'd rather feel it all than feel alright". DAMN, what a line.
Another fresh take on things comes from YDE (pronounced EE-dee) and her song Stopped Buying Diamonds. It's a Millennial or Gen-Z song, singing directly to the Baby Boomer's and sarcastically apologizing for the state of the world. This track also has excellent lyrics and I fully approve of them.
